2025

2025 is our twentieth reunion!  It kicked off with a big bang, though not the kind of bang that the group was anticipating, especially for brother Dana.  After suffering from jet lag after a recent golf trip, he nodded off at the wheel on his approach to FJ's headquarters and landed his Audi off the road, having rolled over in a gully off VT Rt 30.  Miraculously, he came away from the accident unscathed with the exception of a bruised ego.  But with luck and persistence, the opening ceremonies kicked off on time with toast of Coronas and dinner prep ensued as the steaks which were caught in the damaged vehicle were extracted by Dana before he waved his beloved car goodbye.  There was no need to tenderize the steaks or stir the bruschetta and soon the dinner was served but not before a quick nip of some Harpoon lager served from the traditional growler.  After dinner it was time to relax and enjoy a fire with some scoootch in hand.  After a leisurely start to Monday morning, the boys hit the slopes amid crystal blue skies and a sharp chill in the air.  Due to recent snowfall the trails were all groomed and completely covered.  And with few skiers to maneuver around, trail runs were plenty.  Exhausted but content, the boys elected to feast on left overs for dinner as they enjoyed their traditional billiards competition while watch a televised Rangers game.  And while the Rangers scored a shutout versus the Islanders, brother Dana managed a shutout of his own on the pool table.  An early bedtime led to an early pancake breakfast prepared by brother Frank on Tuesday morning.   Though temps had moderated, the skies turned cloudy as a weather front approached from the south.  Undeterred the boys completed a full day of skiing followed by lunch at SMC with bloodies downed while they waited to be served.  A recounting of the gathering determined that each brother had committed the H word offence, though some more than others (Frank and Marty).   After lunch, brother Marty who recently recovered from a total hip replacement, put the other bretheren to shame by taking another two runs before Frank's Audi left the club for its way back to Stark Farm Road.  Once there, it was time to organize and pack up belongings along with tidying up the house for departure.   Thus ended a year like so many in the past with the exception that this year Frank made a detour to CT to drop off Dana.
